Privacy Policy Statement

A Private Notice to Our Members:

Through these disclosures the references to “We”, “Us”, “Our” and “Credit Union” mean College Credit Union.  The words “You” and “Your” mean each person applying for and/or using any of the services offered by College Credit Union.  “Account” means any account or accounts established by you.

College Credit Union is committed to making available financial products and services that will enable you to meet your financial needs and reach your financial goals. Protecting personal information and using it in a manner consistent with your expectations is a high priority. 

We are required by law to give you this privacy notice to explain how we collect, use and safeguard your personal financial information.  If you have any questions please contact a Member Service Representative at (970) 330-3900.

We are committed to provide you with competitive products and services to meet your financial needs, which necessitates that we share information about you to complete your transactions and to provide you with certain financial opportunities. In order to do so, we have entered into agreements with other companies that provide either services to us or additional financial products for you to consider. 

We may also disclose all the information we collect, as described below, to companies that perform marketing or other services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have a joint marketing agreements.

To protect our member’s privacy, we only work with companies that agree to maintain strong confidentiality protections and limit the use of information we provide.  We do not permit these companies to ever sell to other third parties the information we provide to them.

Information We Collect About You:

We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:

  • Information we receive from you on membership and loan applications and other forms;
  • Information about your transactions with us or others;
  • Information we receive from a consumer report agency; and
  • Information obtained when verifying the information you provide on an application or other forms, such as from your current or past employers or from other institutions where you conduct financial transaction

Information We Disclose About You:

We may disclose the following kinds of nonpublic personal financial information about you:

  • Information we receive from you on applications and other forms, such as your name, address, social security number, and birthdate.
  • Information about your transactions with us or other companies that work closely with us to provide you with financial products and services, such as your account balances, payment history, and check card usage.
  • Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency, such as your creditworthiness and credit history.

Former Member Disclosures:

We will not share information we have collected about  former members, except as permitted by law.

Certain Parties That Receive Information From Us:

We may disclose nonpublic personal information about you to the following types of third parties:

  • Financial service providers, such as Financial Planning Companies and Companies providing life and health insurances.
  • Non-financial companies, such as automobile dealerships (i.e. Enterprise Car Sales).
  • Other companies that provide consumer discount programs.

These are companies that we have a mutual marketing agreement and privacy agreement  that will only use this information for services that we feel are beneficial to you.

Our Policy and practices on protecting the confidentiality and security of information we have about you.

We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide you products and services to you.  We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.  

PRIVACY AND SECURITY TIPS TO PROTECT YOUR ACCOUNT:

  • Protect your information: Never give your Social Security number or personal credit information over the phone unless you initiate the call. Keep your personal identification number (PIN) and password in a safe place. Try to memorize your PIN and password and do not write them down with your account information.
  • Destroy or securely store your account records: Tear or shred receipts, bank statements, and unused credit card offers. Keep billing statements and other account-related documents in a safe place.
  • Regularly review your credit report: Order a copy of your credit report at least once per year and report any mistakes to the credit bureau agency and the creditor reporting the information. Keeping your credit report error free is important. Sometimes, there is a small fee for ordering your credit reports, but if you've been denied credit within the last 60 days, the credit report is free.

  • Check your billing statements: Review your statements thoroughly. Call all your creditors immediately if you notice incorrect transactions.
  • If you lose your credit card or suspect that you have been a victim of identity theft, immediately notify your creditors, local law enforcement, and the credit bureau agencies listed above.
